Staff & Structure

Chris Rowney
Team Leader (Senior Pastor)
I was previously serving as the Senior Pastor of Torquay Christian Fellowship (Baptist Union of Victoria) on the Surfcoast of Australia for more than 15 years until mid 2018. Following which I spent a period engaged in Interim Pastoral ministry, consulting and assisting in church leadership and ministry strategy.
I was born in the 60s and grew up in a rural city in NSW Australia, feeling called to ministry as a teenager, I began pastoral ministry in Torquay, VIC, in 2003. Prior to that, along with my wife Robyn, I worked in the publishing industry, pioneering a digital prepress business in Canberra ACT.
Selling the business to pursue the calling to pastoral ministry, I lived and studied in the US in the late 90s, and have since completed postgraduate studies in Theology in Australia with a research focus on how beliefs about Jesus as human and divine shape the way people practice their faith.
I will read anything put in front of me, and have a love of photography, word puzzles/games, history and science, and leading and listening to live worship.

Josh Boutros
Generations Pastor (Children, Youth and Young Adults)
I loved, and now miss my time studying, and would be keen to make
use of any opportunities for further formal development.
I love bringing theology into people’s hands, heads and hearts. Whether
discussing epistemology and ‘Truth’ with my agnostic classmate, or using a Peppa Pig episode to discuss
forgiveness with my 3 year old.
I am an encourager. I love helping people to recognise, practice and
utilise the gifts that they have.
I come from a large family, and find that I am able to connect with all ages from
babies through to seniors at a meaningful level. I also have a heart for those at the edges (disabled, socially anxious, sitting on spectrums etc)
Elders & Treasurer

Ross Cameron
I have a heart for the lost and broken and don’t want to see anyone fall through the cracks.
I have practiced with a number of simple discipleship tools and hope to be able to continue to work with some other emerging leaders on developing a vibrant discipleship culture through our strategy of Engaging people with Jesus, Establishing people in their faith, Equipping people for service, Empowering people to serve.

Jenni Wall
I want each of us to live as the forgiven and restored
children of God that we are, experiencing God’s love, joy, peace and
purpose, which we can only truly know through following Jesus. I want
our church to be a place which reflects Kingdom values, a place of
belonging for the purpose of empowering each one of us for His mission.

John Farmer
I love to dream of what could be and look ahead to how we can plan effectively for the future as we discern God’s leading.
I want to work with others to discover more of what God is calling us to be as Christians and as a local church in this community.
I hope to be able to encourage the leadership and the church to develop a bigger picture view and vision of how and where God is calling us. I have more questions than answers about how we are to be the church God calls us to be in this community at this time in history, but I am hoping that together with the elders and the church, we can discern what being his people in this current culture might look like.

Laura Cannon
I enjoy getting alongside others, getting to know people, and generally ‘doing life’ with others. I feel we all have an important role to play in building one another up in our faith and being an encouragement regardless of where we are in our journey.
I remain excited at the possibility of continuing to join in seeking and following God’s leading in all we do and am committed to acting on that leading. I bring my passion; passion for Christ, and passion for His people. I have great faith and belief in the magnitude of what He can do in and through the church and continue to believe for big things!
